Ma Crawford's house

Kentucky · United States · School

When the fraternity house burned in the 1970s, an old lady called Ma Crawford took the young men in. When she died she left them the house, and they are.

When their house burned down in the 1970s, the members of a fraternity at Murray State University in Kentucky were taken in by an elderly woman known to everyone as Ma Crawford, who rented them rooms.

When she died she left them the house. They are still in it.

She is heard on the stairs, walking up and down, and the lights in the house have their own accounts attached.

This is one of the few entries in the archive where nobody involved wants the reports to stop. She took in a house full of homeless students, she stayed after they inherited the place from her, and successive generations of young men who never met her have been told her name from their first day in the building.

The house is a private student residence.
