Tunnel Hill
Kentucky · United States · Haunted site
Twin tunnels in the Kentucky back roads with two cemeteries directly above them, and a chamber that people say they cannot remember entering.
Tunnel Hill lies a couple of miles along the back roads out of Napfor in Perry County, Kentucky, just before the low water bridge. Two cemeteries sit directly on top of the twin tunnels, which would be enough on its own. The tunnels are what people come for.
The claim that circulates locally concerns a hidden chamber reached through one of the manholes. The manhole is said to give way to a passage, and those who have gone into it report having no recollection of how they got there. Missing time is the specific feature of this site, and it is what separates it from the ordinary tunnel legend.
The other recurring report is about light. Visitors describe every light source they carry weakening as they go further in, until the tunnel is completely dark regardless of what they brought with them.
This is deep back country and the tunnels are working infrastructure, not an attraction. The cemeteries above them are worth respecting on their own account.
