This museum off the loop road at Longview, Texas has been closed for a long time. What it displayed were artefacts recovered from burial sites in east Texas.

People have seen a small girl standing beside the road or in front of the building at night, and other things are reported there.

The objects are the point of this entry. Grave goods taken from Caddo burials were displayed as curiosities for most of the twentieth century, in museums, schools and private collections across this state, without any consent from the people they belonged to.

That changed in law in 1990, when federal legislation required institutions to inventory Native human remains and funerary objects and return them to the nations they came from. The work is still going on.

The Caddo Nation is in Oklahoma today, removed from this country in the 1800s.

The building is closed and private.
