Braselton Town Hall

Staff at the Georgia town hall call him Little John. The building was a Braselton family residence in 1910 before it was a boarding house and a weddin
Braselton Town Hall in Georgia operates out of a house rather than a civic building. It was raised around 1910 by one of the Braseltons as a private residence, later became a boarding house and hotel, then an events venue for weddings, and was finally taken over and refurbished by the town in the late 1990s to hold the town hall, the police department and the water utility office.
The longer serving employees will talk about Little John. What they describe is domestic in scale and steady over years: objects moved from where they were left, odd knocking, footsteps on the stairwell after the offices have closed, and desk drawers that were locked at the end of the day found open in the morning.
Two employees were standing together on the upstairs landing in full daylight, in the middle of a conversation, when they both heard knocking coming from one of the rooms. That is the most recent account, and it follows the pattern of everything before it.
