The corner at 19th and Northern
Arizona · United States · Haunted site
Several older buildings stood dark and empty here for years before the shopping centre replaced them. Phoenix teenagers used them for exactly what you.
On the north east corner of 19th Avenue and Northern in Phoenix there was once a group of older buildings, which stood empty and dark for many years before they were pulled down and a grocery store and shopping centre built over the site.
In those years they collected a great many reports, and teenagers used them to frighten each other, which the original account admits directly.
That admission is why this entry is worth keeping. It is a clean example of how a derelict building generates its own folklore purely by standing empty long enough, and of how little of that folklore survives the demolition.
What is reported on the site now, with a shopping centre on it, is a different and much shorter list.
The corner is ordinary retail and open to the public.
