Glaser Road

Teenagers in the late fifties named the mist on this road the Blob. Since the sixties a light has appeared, moving over the road and above it.

Glaser Road in Franklin County, Missouri, near the state park, has produced two separate things over sixty years.

The first came in the late 1950s and early 1960s, when a mist appeared to a great many teenagers on this road. They called it the Blob, and the name stuck.

The second began in the 1960s and has continued to the present day, though only now and then. A light appears, moving and dancing, sometimes in the sky and sometimes down on the road itself.

Moving lights on remote roads are the most reported category of anomaly in rural America, and most have ordinary explanations: distant headlights refracted over a rise, aircraft, or gas over wet ground. Some resist all of them, and the ones that do tend to be on roads exactly like this.

The road is public and rural.
