Goat Man's Bridge
Texas · USA · Church
A bridge over Gilbert's Creek between Burkburnett and Sheppard Air Force Base. Park in the middle of it and stay quiet.
The bridge over Gilbert's Creek sits out past the golf course between Burkburnett and Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas, and for generations it has been where local teenagers went to drink.
It is called Goat Man's Bridge. The figure described is a man from the head to the waist and a goat below it.
The instruction is to be quiet, and then you hear him. Parking in the middle of the bridge is the other half of it.
Goat man figures are reported across the whole of the United States, from Maryland to Texas, and they cluster at bridges more than anywhere else. The reason is probably older than any of the stories: a crossing over water has been a place where you meet something on the other side for as long as people have been telling each other anything.
The bridge is on a public road.
