The road begins as Federal Hill Road in Brewster, New York and ends as Joe's Hill Road in Danbury, Connecticut, and it has collected several stories that appear to have nothing to do with one another.

The best known is the Jesus Tree, cut down in the early 1990s. The trunk was said to carry the image of Christ on the crucifix, and when it was felled it reportedly bled a red substance. Directly beyond where it stood are twelve trees, evenly spaced and matched in size, which local tradition calls the twelve apostles. Anyone driving the road can still count them.

Further east the road passes an estate that visitors describe as ominous, and it has attracted its own separate set of accounts over the years.

Roads that cross a state line tend to accumulate legends from both sides, and this one has done exactly that. The trees are the part that can be verified, and their spacing is genuinely regular enough to be worth stopping for.
