A woman went off the road into a ditch here with her baby in the car seat. A resident reports that the bridge, the road and the pond are no longer there.

The site lies a mile south of Moore, Oklahoma, down 134 past Sooner Road. A woman driving with her baby in the child seat went off into a ditch and died.

The road was closed afterwards. The bridge that reached it fell into disrepair, a wooden structure no car could cross. The account passed around locally held that the car was still down in the ditch with the child seat visible in it, and that on some evenings, after crossing the bridge onto the abandoned road, you could hear a baby crying.

An update in January 2005 from a resident living near the site changes the entry, and it is the reason it is worth keeping. The pond, the road and the bridge are no longer there.

Crybaby bridges are one of the most widespread legends in America, and almost every state has several. This one had a specific location, a specific ditch and a specific claim about a car still lying in it, all of which can now be checked against a landscape that no longer contains any of them.
