The first Academy Awards ceremony was held here in 1929 in the Blossom Ballroom. The hotel is said to be haunted by the celebrities who stayed there. Marilyn Monroe is associated with a mirror, Montgomery Clift is said to play the trumpet in room 928, and Errol Flynn is also mentioned.
