The Conjuring House, originally the Arnold Estate, is a farmhouse from 1736 at 1677 Round Top Road in Harrisville, Rhode Island, known as the real life model for the horror film The Conjuring (2013).

The Perron family, parents Roger and Carolyn and their five daughters, moved in during January 1971 and soon reported paranormal activity. In the film the haunting is attributed to Bathsheba Sherman, said to have been a child killer, witch and devil worshipper.

The reality is different. Bathsheba Sherman never lived on the Perron farm, but on the Sherman farm some distance away. According to historical sources she lived a fairly ordinary life as a hard working farmer's wife and died at the age of 73 after a sudden paralysis, most likely a stroke. The dark picture of her seems to have been created by amateur research and later embellished by the family and by the celebrated occult investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, for dramatic effect.

Whatever the truth of the legend, the house has become one of the most visited haunted houses in the United States. The Perron family described cold spots, doors that opened by themselves, smells of rotting meat and a figure that appeared at the bedside at night. It is run today with tours and overnight stays for paranormal investigators, who make the pilgrimage to the remote farmhouse to experience for themselves what inspired one of the most successful horror films of modern times.
