Bachelor's Grove Cemetery near Midlothian in Illinois came into use in 1844 and holds just over 200 graves up to the early 1960s. The site was badly vandalised during the years around 1970, which destroyed most of the original headstones. It is counted among the most haunted cemeteries in the United States, with reports of floating lights, phantom vehicles, a vanishing house and apparitions such as the Madonna of Bachelor's Grove, a woman in white.
