A girl was out riding her black horse at around eleven at night when a drunk driver came fast around the corner and hit them both.

What he did next is why the road is remembered. He called friends, and they came and took her away and buried her. Afterwards he would not admit to what he had done. A few days later he died himself, and nobody locally seems to know how.

Her parents lived on and then died, and the house was sold to an elderly woman, who kept a journal of what happened in it.

That journal is the closest thing this story has to a source, and we have not seen it. No names accompany the account and no record has been produced, so it is set down as local tradition.
