The story says a boy too small for the ride came out of his seat and was killed. There was no such boy, and the park says so.

The park at Aurora, Ohio operated as Six Flags Worlds of Adventure before returning to its previous owner.

The legend attached holds that a small boy who was under the height limit for the Superman ride came out of his seat during it and died shortly afterwards from the fall. Attached to it is a very precise ritual: sit in seat two of the last row at twenty six minutes past five and you will hear the screaming and the impact.

An addition filed in March 2004 states plainly that no boy has ever died in this way at the ride.

We keep the entry because of that correction. Amusement park death legends spread faster than almost any other kind, they attach to specific rides and specific seats, and they persist long after the ride and sometimes the park itself have gone.
