A correction filed in January 2004 makes this one of the most useful entries in the whole collection.

A local paranormal group went to investigate the story attached to this cabin at Austintown, Ohio, and found that no accident of the kind described ever happened.

They also explained how they knew. The Ohio Department of Agriculture investigates every ride accident and death in the state and keeps the incident reports, and anyone can look them up.

That is real research. It names a public records source, it is checkable by a stranger, and it produced a negative finding that the investigators then published against their own interest.

The overwhelming majority of the stories in this archive have never been tested against a single document. This one was, and it did not survive.

The cabin itself is a genuine early structure and is a local landmark.
