Among those interred are Andrew Carnegie, Walter Chrysler and Samuel Gompers, and the cemetery holds around 47,000 graves across forty hectares. It adjoins the old Dutch burying ground that features in Irving's story, and the folklore of the headless horseman drives its reputation.
